Kelly Diane Wagoner (Rost), formerly known as Mary Francis Smith, was the name given to her by the social workers who took her into custody after she was found abandoned in a laundromat in a small town outside Chicago in August 1970. Kelly never thought she would learn the great mystery of her life, and she was content with not knowing the circumstances surrounding her birth on this side of heaven, as she believed it was God's plan. Growing up as a black child with white parents in a largely white environment was at times confusing and challenging, but Kelly is grateful for the unique journey on which God has taken her.
Kelly currently resides in Denver, Colorado, and works as a marketing and communications professional. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, alongside her parents and two adopted brothers. It was during her upbringing in Albuquerque that Kelly developed a deep love for New Mexico green chile, and she is now a passionate advocate for the spicy vegetable, often incorporating it into her meals.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys a variety of activities, including reading, listening to music, exercising outdoors, and indulging in a nightly bowl of ice cream. She is the proud mother of two amazing young men, Zion and Zechariah.
Despite the challenges she faced growing up, Kelly has been blessed with a fulfilling life. She has resolved not to dwell on the unknown circumstances of her birth, but instead, to focus on the journey that God has chosen for her. Kelly's story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of faith in navigating life's obstacles.
